The presentation concentrates on issues and challenges related to integration of applications developed using different programming technologies: such as native Windows applications (written in C++ or C#) and Web based applications (server side HTML rendering or JavaScript based dynamic UI). The presentation demonstrates example architecture used for integrating of legacy and modern, web based, business applications in SAP Business Client and explains reasons and benefits of selected approach. The presentation answers to questions: why our main client platform is Windows, why is used .NET for building a shell, but not C++ or Java, why we use embedded Internet Explorer for hosting web based applications but not Chrome or Firefox, etc. The information is interesting to people working with mesh up solutions and planning to integrate native and web based applications in one shell.
